Whitney Francis Berra
Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Channel for Tenderness, & Wide Realm of Embodied Living
My mission is in holding space for others to return to their natural state of love, wholeness, balance, wellbeing and creativity through embodiment practice. I am a channel for Tenderness and I work in the wide realm of Embodied Living…showing up, slowing down, taking care. This world is vast and can’t be contained, it includes Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga Asana practice, Restorative/Yin Yoga, Therapeutic and Somatic movement and stillness, Yogic philosophy, dance/free movement, as well as meditative and contemplative practice, writing practice, self-inquiry, sacred self-care, breathwork, sound/sound healing, acupressure, stress-reduction techniques, nervous-system balancing and energy work and healings. I offer private sessions, Embodied Living Journeys, group classes, workshops and safe space to begin, deepen or continue a Yoga, Meditation, Embodiment, and Conscious Journey.
I have been sharing Yoga and Meditation since 2015, following a career in Social Work and a beautiful Yoga foundation gained through Kathy McNames and the Yoga Vermont community. I am forever grateful to Kathy, for her role in my receiving of Yoga and its continued and eternal blossoming within me. The study and practice of Yoga is a forever journey, and I continue to attend trainings, workshops, engage in mentorship, and deep study. Yoga has been a bridge to broadened practice and study including somatic work, embodied living, sacred self-care, energy work, sound healing, Daoist practices, East Asian Medicine/5 Elements theory, nervous system balancing and the mystical healing arts. I am currently completing my Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine and I will be an Acupuncture Physician upon completion and licensure.
Embodied living means to realize who it is we truly are. It is a living from a firm and felt sense of self, inhabiting our body, and knowing what it is we need. When we come down and into our bodies, our BEings, our needs… we begin to engage in a conversation with our wider selves. We begin the sacred act of self-care and compassion. Everything changes when we begin to show up for ourselves and in ourselves. This work is a deep listening, a slowing down, a coming home, a saying “yes.” I work with others in the sanctuary of NOW… fresh, alive and fertile ground, where transformation happens. We begin a practice. We breathe, we move, we settle, we receive, we clear, we relax the grips, we unwind, we become, we start over, again and again. We hold ourselves in love and curiosity and softness…this space holding is what nurtures our conscious practice, our hearts, our intuition, our entire life. It is an ongoing and evolving practice and it extends into all areas. Everything becomes a loving ritual. We blossom here. The mind and story can soften. We remember that the body is wise. We experience our beauty. We offer it out.
The journey is tailored to you. You as a being. You as a beautiful and wise body. You, in your life, right now. We begin with a consultation call. We go from there. The “yes” will come from your body. This is always the starting ground. We join together in honesty, compassion and deep respect and we hold a generous space for your embodiment. A generous space includes permission, allowing, not knowing, and so much care. The Journey provides a true foundation and framework for living embodied, conscious, awake and at home in who you are. You will end your journey with a deeper sense of self and with personal practices that will continue to truly nourish, support and inform you and your living. This realm is vast and can’t be contained, it includes Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga Asana practice, Restorative/Yin Yoga, Therapeutic and Somatic movement and stillness, Yogic philosophy, dance/free movement, as well as meditative and contemplative practice, writing practice, self-inquiry, breathwork, sacred self care, sound/sound healing, acupressure, stress reduction techniques, nervous-system balancing and energy work and healings.
